RAF defeat the Navy at home in second Inter Services netball clash
The Royal Air Force have won the second game of the Inter Services Netball Championships after winning with a convincing 45-54 over the Navy.
After losing to the Army on Wednesday, the Navy's hopes of repeating their 2016 success at the Inter Services this year have been dashed.
The light blues started off well in the first quarter where they built a 7-19 lead over the Navy with Goal Scorer Faye Bateson proving consistent with her shots, giving the RAF plenty of room to work with in the first half of the game.
The Navy began to find their rhythm and began to apply pressure on the RAF, however the light blue's early lead in the first quarter proved crucial as they maintained an 11-point gap with the Navy, totaling 21-32 at half-time.
In the second half, the Navy began strongly and were on a mission to chase the RAF but, once again, the light blues looked very organised on court and kept the gap between them and the Navy in the third quarter, maintaining their lead at 30-45.
In the final quarter, the RAF looked more nervy than earlier in the game as the Navy tried hard to close the gap in the last minutes of the game.
But the RAF showed moments of brilliance to keep the gap between them and the Navy and, at the final whistle, the RAF took victory to position themselves well for a possible Inter Services win.
The RAF will play the reigning champions, the Army, on Friday in what will prove to be an exciting championship decider.
