Royal Marine Commando Taylor Lawrence has won gold in the four-man bobsleigh event at the IBSF World Cup in St. Moritz, Switzerland, marking the team's second victory of the season.

Lawrence, along with Brad Hall, Arran Gulliver and Leon Greenwood, clocked a combined time of 2:11.59 to edge out world number one Francesco Friedrich of Germany.

Germany's second bobsleigh team led by Johannes Lochner rounded up the podium and placed in third.

Team Hall's gold medal-winning runs keep them second in the overall World Cup rankings after five of eight races, following four podium finishes this season including a gold in Winterberg, Germany.

Lawrence was also set to run in the four-man bobsleigh again in St. Moritz on Sunday, but the day's runnings were called off by the IBSF due to warm weather conditions overnight.

Great Britain's GB2 bobsleigh, which included Royal Marine Adam Baird and Parachute Regiment soldier Olly Butterworth, finished down in 26th.
