Brad Hall and Royal Marine Taylor Lawrence have made a strong start to the World Cup two-man bobsleigh season, finishing fourth in the opening race at Altenberg, Germany.

The duo clocked a combined time of 1 minute 49.84 seconds over two runs, just 1.23 seconds behind the winner, reigning world champion Francesco Friedrich of Germany.

The result places them among the top competitors as they look ahead to the rest of the season.

Meanwhile, GB's second bobsleigh team, piloted by Royal Marine Adam Baird with brakeman Austin Millard, finished in 18th place.

This solid start marks an encouraging performance for the British team as they aim to build on this momentum throughout the World Cup season and to the European and World Championships.

Lawrence also competed in the four-man event alongside Hall, Leon Greenwood and Greg Cackett, where the GBR1 bobsleigh placed fifth overall.

The team finished just 0.29 seconds behind the winning bobsleigh, which was once again won by Germany's Francesco Friedrich.
