Army rugby league loose forward Bombardier Bethan Dainton has won the 2026 Betfred Challenge Cup with Wigan Warriors after they comprehensively thrashed St Helens 54-6 at Wembley.
Bdr Dainton, who serves in the 1st Regiment Royal Horse Artillery, wins the Challenge Cup at the third time of asking after previously losing twice in the final with Leeds Rhinos in 2023 and 2024.
A dual-coded Welsh international, Bdr Dainton joined Wigan Warriors for the 2026 season and has played an integral part in the Warriors' Challenge Cup success.
It is the second-consecutive Challenge Cup win for Wigan Warriors.
Speaking to Wigan TV after the game, Bdr Dainton said: "It's absolutely surreal!
"We knew we could do it deep down but on the day it's who turns up and anything can happen, but I've got no words!"
