RAF beaten by strong Chinnor team in first match of 2024

Watch: Kieran Prescott's double was a highlight for the RAF in defeat and we got a special look at this second try

The RAF's men's rugby union team were beaten 50-26 in their opening match of the season against a very strong Chinnor side in Oxfordshire.

The airmen were 22-0 down after conceding four first-half tries but they clicked into gear when a fine move from hooker Jamie Roberts was converted by Jordan Oatley.

Kieran Prescott scored the first of his double before the break – finishing off a surging run from team captain Toby Evans to make it 22-12 at half-time.

The hosts extended their lead after the break before the RAF were awarded a penalty try after Chinnor were caught for persistent offsides on their line.

Chinnor scored eight tries during the match but the RAF ended in style with another superb try for Prescott – which you can watch from our pitchside view in the video above.
