Chief Petty Officer Sarah Jenkins will be taking charge of the Royal Navy senior women's rugby union team for the 2024 season.

Royal Navy Rugby Union announced on their website that CPO Jenkins had been promoted from her role with the Development Team to lead the Navy into matches against the RAF in Plymouth and the Army at Twickenham Stadium.

She brings 18 years' worth of experience inside Navy rugby union to the role, including competing as a player at 12 Inter Services campaigns.

During her time as a player, she captained the Navy at the 2014 Inter Services before transitioning to a coaching role.

CPO Jenkins' final game in charge of the Development Team saw the Navy beat Plymstock Albion Oaks last week.
