Royal Navy women's 7s storms to victory at North Dorset 7s tournament

The Royal Navy Women's 7s, also known as the Makos, have won the Women's Social Cup at the North Dorset 7s Tournament at North Dorset RFC in Gillingham.
The Makos began their day in the pool stages against another military side from RMA Sandhurst, to which the Navy side breezed to a 20-0 victory.
They then raked up more wins in the pool stages with a 19-7 win over Ellingham and Ringwood and a 29-5 win over Oscar 7s Women 2 team.
The Makos were on form in the quarter-final stage with a 20-0 victory over the DumpTruck Ladies, before they bagged their biggest margin of victory in the semi-final with a 34-0 win over Oscar 7s Women 1 team.
They then faced the Moseley Women in the final where they only conceded one try to storm to a 24-5 victory to win the Women's Social Cup.

The Stingrays fall short
In the men's tournament, the Royal Navy Stingrays were also in action.
Much like their female counterparts, the Stingrays breezed through the pool stages to reach the quarterfinal where they bagged a 19-5 win over Frome RFC.
They then faced a well-organised and talented Gunner Rugby side, who were a step above what the Stingrays could manage.
The Gunners dropped the Navy side with a commanding 32-0 victory which saw the Stingrays' tournament end at the semi-finals stage.
