Soldiers flock to Army's American football trials
The Army American Football Association (AAFA) have held their first trials day since the COVID-19 pandemic began.
Held at DMS Whittington, 92 aspiring players took part as the military sport continues to grow in popularity.
More than 300 soldiers applied to be part of the trials, with the AAFA's numbers having increased since the association's inception in 2019.
Many players have experience with civilian clubs, but can now turn their attention to a service side.
Staff Sergeant Abraham Day has been a driving force in the growth of the sport in the Army and has helped the RAF and Navy start associations too.
There are currently plans in the work for the creation of a women's and development team, as well as a possible Inter Services competition as early as next year.
