Watch: Drone captures incredible moment Russian soldier 'surrenders' to Ukrainian forces

Aerial footage published by the Ukrainian military, which has not been verified, shows the moment a suspected Russian soldier surrenders.

The minute-long video appears to show a note being dropped beside the soldier's trench before he is eventually led to safety.

As the soldier exits the trench, he appears to come under sustained and heavy fire – thought to be from his own comrades.

A similar incident was posted online last year, in which a Wagner Group mercenary appears to surrender to a Ukrainian-operated drone.

This comes after the Ministry of Defence published details that Russian forces have fled Ukraine's battlefield city Bakhmut "in bad order", as Ukraine's military recaptures ground.
