British Troops Receive UN Peacekeeping Medals

Hundreds of UN peacekeepers, including a large contingent of British troops, have received their operational medals as they reached the halfway point of their tour in Cyprus.
 
Members of 36 Engineer Regiment took part in a special parade inside the buffer zone that separates the island’s two communities.
 
In the past 50 years 186 UN peacekeepers - including 44 British soldiers - have been killed in Cyprus.
