Building Bedrooms On Mountains In The South Atlantic

Troops from the Army's Engineering Corps have been given a rather unusual task - building bedrooms on mountains.

And they've been doing it in one of the coldest and windiest reaches of the world.

This was not something soldiers from the engineering corps were expecting to be sent to do.

Nor do they have any experience of this kind of 'civvy' engineering, but that hasn't stopped them getting stuck in.

Project Anemoi has involved teams from across the Corps of Royal Engineers.

21 Engineer Regiment from Ripon headed out first to dig the foundations, then 32 Engineer Regiment from Catterick went in to erect the structure.

Once that's finished, 39 Engineer Regiment from Kinloss will fit the interiors.

In Greek Mythology, the 'Anemoi' were the Gods of the Four Winds and, given the weather conditions, it turns that this was an apt name for the project.

Forces TV has been following the team from Catterick as they embarked on the ambitious deployment.
