Christmas Morale For Wounded Soldiers In Germany

Soldiers from the Personnel Recovery Centre (PRC) in Germany have been treated to a night of performance by CSE Events and Entertainment

More than 40 personnel turned up to watch the annual pre-Christmas show at Brydon House in Sennelager, Paderborn. Major Andy Wilson, second-in-command at the PRC, said:

"These fantastic entertainers [and] supporters to our soldiers go all over the world and they provide another avenue of support to our wounded injured and sick soldiers in Germany.
"They come here every Christmas [to] deliver a CSE show free of charge. It enables our WIS [wounded, injured and sick] soldiers to come together, enjoy a bit of light entertainment [and] some interaction with their own… and it’s just a lovely, lovely evening."
PRC residents, centre staff and friends of the PRC made for a full house, with the entertainers aiming to prove that laughter is the best medicine.

Speaking ahead of the show, Private Christine Windridge of 1st Military Working Dog Regiment was looking forward to the comedians coming to crack a few jokes and said:

"Sometimes the injury and recovery process can be quite serious and quite morbid throughout, so it’s good to relax and have a laugh with everybody and lift everyone’s spirits."

Lance Corporal Bright Agyarey-Botsio, of 6 Regiment RLC, added: "It’s a good feeling…a feeling of togetherness and you feel like one family again."
