The advancements made in prosthetics today all have their roots in groundbreaking work by a charity in Scotland 100 years ago 
 
Erskine Hospital was founded during the First World War with the aim of helping wounded men by fitting them with pioneering prosthetics.
 
Now, to mark its centenary, the Scottish veterans charity has begun a year of celebrations.
