Technician By Day, Martial Arts Star By Night...

The Army Sports Awards have celebrated plenty of international achievements over the years - and the 2016 rising star nominees are a sign that that's likely to continue.

Craftsman Jamie Abley is still undergoing phase two training at MoD Lyneham, but has already travelled all over the world with the current GB Olympic Taekwondo squad.

21-year-old Jamie's sporting story is a familiar one.

He started Taekwondo at his local club in County Durham because that's what his brother did, and was able to develop his martial arts talents from there.

A keen all-round sportsman, once in the Army, he threw himself into station life whilst training to become a REME technician.

But while he deals with his Army career, it's in the knowledge that GB Taekwondo already know who he is and what he can do.
