Watch: Welsh Guards rehearse for Trooping the Colour at Army Training College Pirbright

Watch: Training has begun for Trooping the Colour on King Charles' official birthday on 17 June.

The Welsh Guards have officially begun rehearsing for Trooping the Colour.

Also known as the King's Birthday Parade, the ceremonial celebration of the British monarch's official birthday is set to take place on 17 June – his actual birthday is on 14 November.

And as the sun finally begins to shine across the UK, the Welsh Guards start Troop training at the Army Training Centre Pirbright, as seen in the video above.

Members of the Battalion took part in the training alongside personnel from the Foot Guards in preparation for the first Trooping the Colour to mark the occasion.

The Welsh Guards are predominantly fighting soldiers, but also take great pride in performing ceremonial duties and guarding Royal Palaces.
