After a turbulent year and a half due to the COVID-19 pandemic, a military charity is once again offering free tickets to members of Her Majesty’s Armed Forces to attend events all around the UK.

Tickets For Troops has already offered tickets for major events like the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in July and the Community Shield final - which have now sold out - with plans to offer more for other events like the 2021 British Open and the Kaiser Chiefs in Scarborough now the lockdown restrictions have been lifted or eased depending on where you are in the UK.

The news will undoubtedly be welcomed by HM Armed Forces, who have played a vital role in supporting the NHS with the mass vaccination and testing programme.

The Football Association (FA) donated 1,000 tickets for the final of the Community Shield between Manchester City and Leicester City, due to take place this weekend, all of which quickly sold out. The FA has been a big supporter of Tickets For Troops since the charity’s launch in 2009.

Tickets For Troops also secured 10 tickets for the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in July 2021 courtesy of British motor racing team McLaren. One lucky guest said:

“I wish I could really explain to you how good the weekend really was. It was an absolute please to be able to attend.

“I ordered my tickets and didn’t expect them to arrive on time, but I got them because of the helpful and astute person in your office.

“The whole weekend was incredible, apart from Max crashing.

“Pre COVID tests, bag searches, entry, travel to the venue was all done magnificently. My first time at F1 and it won’t be my last.”

Tickets For Troops has helped thousands of members of the UK's Armed Forces and their families to attend big events like football matches since its launch in 2009. In 2018, the charity celebrated having given away one million tickets through their FA partnership.

The charity recognises the sacrifices made by serving personnel, their families and veterans so offers free tickets for major sporting events, theatre performances, music concerts and cultural attractions to current serving members of the armed forces and those who have been medically discharged from the armed forces since 2001.

Tickets For Troops is supported by theatres and concert venues all over the country.

The charity was also given 1,000 tickets by promoter Frank Warren for the boxing at Wembley Arena in July.

Those eligable can go online and register at www.ticketsfortroops.org.uk to take advantage of the tickets available for the Armed Forces.
