RAF Veteran Treated Following Decade Of Undiagnosed PTSD

An RAF veteran who suffered for a decade with undiagnosed PTSD has finally received the help he needed.

Darren George, 42, developed problems years after some of the men under his command were taken hostage at gunpoint during an overseas training exercise.

He suffered a delayed reaction in the form of nightmares and hyper-vigilance.

Now he has completed five months of therapy with Veterans NHS Wales, which is the only national NHS veterans service in the UK.

Dr Neil Kitchiner helped Darren to challenge his negative thought patterns through psychotherapy and cognitive behavioural therapy.
