Surf Action: Making Waves With Military Families

Summer may not have arrived just yet, but that's not stopping a hardy band of veterans, service personnel and their families from making the most of Britain's coast.

The charity Surf Action puts on courses which gives the military community the chance to learn to surf, gain knowledge of water safety, and, most importantly, have fun!

It gives families quality time together, which is much needed if service parents are away on deployment for much of the year.

It is just one of a number of small charities to have received substantial grants from the Royal British Legion.

£20,000 of RBL funding went towards a course giving 52 children sea safety, swimming lessons, surfing lessons and more sea-related skills.
