Veteran Advocacy Service SEAP To Expand

A service that helps veterans communicate their welfare problems is expanding.

The military advocacy service SEAP, which stands for Support, Empower, Advocate, Promote, currently has teams in Plymouth, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire.

From April, there will be teams in East Cornwall, Wiltshire and Swindon, North Hampshire and Essex.

But what is an advocacy service and how can it help?

Royal Navy veteran Steve Cargin suffers short-term memory loss. He suffered a head injury following a traffic accident.

He also badly injured his knees while serving, and fears one leg may have to be amputated.

So, after having trouble communicating with his doctor, he approached SEAP.

They assigned advocate Marie Macpherson, formerly of the Royal Navy, to help.
