An Afghan army helicopter has crashed killing all 25 people on board.
It happened in bad weather in western Farah province.
The helicopter crashed shortly after taking off from the mountainous Anar Dara district heading towards nearby Herat province.
The dead include the deputy commander of the western zone, according to a provincial spokesman.
Elsewhere in Afghanistan, a suicide bomber has struck outside the country's largest prison on the edge of the capital Kabul.
Seven people were killed, including prison workers and security personnel.
The sprawling prison houses hundreds of inmates, including scores of Taliban insurgents.
The attack happened near the prison gate where visitors were waiting to pass a security check before entering.
No one has claimed responsibility for the attack.
