American Service Personnel Killed And Four Injured In Afghanistan

An American service personnel has been killed and four others injured during what's being described as a "combat engagement" in Eastern Afghanistan.

The U.S military said the incident took place yesterday in Achin in Nangarhar province.

Two of the wounded service members are being treated at a medical facility and in a stable condition. The others have returned to duty

General John Nicholson, commander, U.S. Forces-Afghanistan said:

"We are deeply saddened by the loss of one of our own... At this very difficult time, our heartfelt sympathies go out to the families and friends of our fallen and wounded brothers."
