Army Veteran Joins Britain's Transplant Games Just Months After Heart Replacement
Less than a year after having his heart replaced, a former Royal Engineer is taking part in the British Transplant Games.
Richard Heaney is taking part in the golfing event in North Lanarkshire after going through major surgery last September.
After the major surgery, Heaney spent six months recovering in hospital - but he’s now looking ahead to a healthier future.
After taking up golf in the last few months to make sure his recovery stays on track, Richard is taking on the challenge of the British Transplant Games.
He might be up against some more experienced golfers in the competition- but Richard is refusing to let that bother him.
Thankfully, as well as the progress he’s been making on the golf course, Richard’s recovery means he’s also been passed fit to return to work.
