British Army Veterans Put Black Mambas Through Paces

Members of an anti-poaching unit are celebrating promotion after closely training with British Army veterans at Balule National Park.

The Black Mambas have been made Sergeants after successfully completing a final test patrol for poachers in the South African bush.

It marked the end of a two-week senior command course run by British Army veterans.

Amongst other skills, the former soldiers were able to pass on hard-won medical knowledge to their students, which will be crucial to them going forward.

The new Sergeants will now have a few days off before returning to the fight to keep South Africa's wildlife safe from harm.
