Countdown To Armed Forces Day Begins In Liverpool

Personnel from all three services of the British Armed Forces have gathered in Liverpool, to mark the 100 day countdown to Armed Forces Day 2017.
Troops launched the countdown in front of the city's Cunard building with the unveiling banners spelling out '100'.
Around 1,000 serving personnel, cadets, veterans and marching bands will parade through Liverpool city centre, starting at St. George's Hall, and finishing with a salute on Princes Parade.

Activities and demonstrations of military assets will take place across the day, in zones represented by all three military services.
Liverpool’s Deputy Mayor, Councillor Ann O’Byrne, said: "Hosting Armed Forces Day is a huge coup for Liverpool and despite still being 100 days away, an incredible amount of work has already been undertaken behind the scenes to make sure this city does the forces community proud.
"On the 24 June, Liverpool will become the focal point for the UK as together we acknowledge the hard work and dedication of men and women in the services."
Armed Forces Day 2017 takes place on Saturday 24 June.
