North Korea Is Likely To Have Missiles Capable Of Reaching UK by 2019, Warns MPs

MPs say North Korea will almost certainly be able to reach the UK with an Inter-Continental Ballistic Missile within the next 6-18 months.

Although they say Pyongyang's ability to arm them with nuclear warheads is less certain.

The Commons Defence Select Committee report into the country said it was a "reasonable assumption" the North could reach the UK already and that it is "almost certain" to be able to carry nuclear warheads to these shores by 2019.

It added the UK has a "limited" ballistic missile defence system - but also noted there had been "no sign" of Kim Jong-un wanting to target the UK with nuclear weapons.

Russia Calls Meeting With UN Security Council

Russia has called a meeting with the UN Security Council, later today, to challenge the UK's claim that it was behind the poisoning of Sergei and Yulia Skripal.

It follows their call for a joint inquiry into the case which was rejected during an emergency meeting with the international chemical weapons watchdog in the Netherlands yesterday.

The head of NATO says it's not aiming to isolate Russia after the nerve agent attack in Salisbury but had to crack down to show it's unhappiness with Moscow.

Aintree Beckons Former Army Captain

A former Army Captain is set to become the first amputee jockey to ride over the Grand National fences at Aintree, next week.

Guy Disney rides with a prosthetic right leg after he was injured while serving in Afghanistan in 2009.

Mr Disney became the first amputee jockey to win at a professional race course in Britain when gaining victory aboard Rathlin Rose in last year's Royal Artillery Gold Cup at Sandown.
