10 June, 10:38 Theresa May is expected to complete her cabinet this weekend, including several defence posts.

Defence Secretary Sir Michael Fallon MP was confirmed as being one of five cabinet members reappointed yesterday evening, with posts including Armed Forces Minister, Defence Procurement Minister and Minister for Defence Veterans, Reserves and Personnel yet to be decided.

"If I were a serving soldier I would not have voted for UKIP based on what we offered on defence."

16:29 Plenty of MPs who held or won new seats over night have military careers behind them, including Royston Smith MP, whose bravery has been recognised by Her Majesty the Queen.
