Falkland Islanders Come Together To Remember

On the anniversary of liberation day, Falkland Islanders come together to remember the moment British troops marched into Stanley to raise the union flag over Government House after Argentinian forces finally surrendered on June 14th, 1982.

There was a huge turnout for the Liberation Day parade from locals, veterans, serving personnel and youth groups.

It means a huge amount to the local population who take the opportunity to give thanks to the sacrifice of those who liberated them and defended their right to self-determination.

The services in the parade were Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force and the Falkland Islands Defence Force plus there was also a flypast by the Chinooks of 1310 flight.
