Falmouth Docks Evacuated After Crane Collapse

Falmouth dock crane collapse

Falmouth Docks has been evacuated after a crane collapsed at the Cornwall site.

The structure fell onto acetylene cylinders on the dockside at around 9am this morning,with the incident being "declared a major incident" by police.

No injuries have been reported, and the nearby RFA Tidespring is reported to be undamaged.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a 200m exclusion zone put in place and staff evacuated from the area

A statement from A&P group, the company which owns the dock, said a health and safety investigation is to take place and that employees "will return to work as soon as possible".
