Lee Rigby Charity 'Flooded With Volunteers' After Facebook Plea

Hundreds of volunteers have offered to help finish the Lee Rigby House in North Staffordshire after an ex-serviceman posted an appeal on Facebook.
Keith Lawson turned to the social media platform for help after he saw only three people "struggling to get the place finished" before the opening in September.
The post, which has now been shared over 125,000 times, asked for "tilers, bathroom fitters, landscapers, decorators and labourers".
Keith Lawson visited the home to do some work on Wednesday and says he is "stunned" by the "overwhelming response". He wrote on Facebook:
"I have always been proud to be British but never more so than now. Over 64,000 people have responded (and still growing!) You are all truly wonderful people and will be responsible for helping to re-build so many lives."
A trustee for the Foundation said that even though the building is on track, they are grateful for any help.
The House, set up by the Lee Rigby Foundation, will be a retreat for veterans and service families, and it will house seven people at a time.
It was established by the mother of Fusilier Lee Rigby, who who was murdered in 2013.

Fusilier Rigby was killed outside his barracks by two Islamic extremists while off duty on May 22, 2013. They knocked him down with a car and hacked him to death with a meat cleaver and knives.
The two, Michael Adebolajo and Michael Adebowale, were sentenced to life in prison in December 2013 after being found guilty.
They said they had murdered the 25-year-old in revenge for British forces killing Muslims abroad and claimed they wanted police to kill them after the murder.
