London Eye Evacuated As Wartime Bomb Is Found In Thames
The London Eye and the surrounding pier were evacuated on Sunday after reports of a unexploded wartime era device.
Police were called to the scene at 10.30am after a suspected World War One or World War Two "ordnance" was found on the foreshore on the river Thames.
Cordons were put in place for 40 minutes and people on the London Eye were helped to disembark quickly.
The area has since been reopened and police said they would return at low tide to remove the device.
More to follow.
