Meet The RAF's Amazing "Marathon Man"
RAF Airman Corporal Jon Ward has taken on the challenge of running one hundred marathons to coincide with the RAF's 100th anniversary this year.
He’s just undertaken his 97th race of 100, held in Kent, South East England.
120 people took part, and Jon lead the way.
The idea of 100 marathons came about after Jon completed number six in Dublin, and started to consider being a member of the 100 marathon club.
"I was at RAF Marham, and they were celebrating 100 years, and as part of that I found myself running marathon after marathon!".
"I thought to myself 'I could achieve 100 marathons by the 100th anniversary, and join the 100 marathon club'".

His final challenge will be to complete his 100th marathon on the 100th year anniversary of the RAF – taking place in just a few months’ time, whilst raising money for RAF The Benevolent Fund.
Jon ran his personal best of under 3 hours on exercise in the USA just before Christmas.
But how does he stay motivated?
"It's about the people I've met- people say I inspire them, and that's one of my goals- to inspire people.
"I've thought about doing 500 marathons by the time I'm 50."
The 100th Marathon will be on the 1st April, and Jon is hoping to raise £2,620 for the charity by the time he crosses the finishing line.
The figure is the number of miles he would have run to get there.
