Post-Cold War first as NATO commands US Carrier Strike Group

NATO has taken command of a US Carrier Strike capability for the first time since the end of the Cold War.

Twelve days of vigilance operations in the Adriatic Sea under Neptune Strike 22 saw 15 ships, about 90 aircraft and two aircraft carriers co-operate in a range of environments.

Twenty-eight allies took part â€“ with ships practising joint manoeuvres and launching aircraft on simulated strike missions.
