Prince Charles Praises Troops At NATO UK Base
Prince Charles has made his first visit to the UK home of one of NATO's High Readiness Forces.

The headquarters of the Allied Rapid Reaction Corps (HQ ARRC) is celebrating 25 years of work.

A multinational flag party and honour guard representing the 23 countries that work together at the base greeted the Prince of Wales.

The headquarters is not a standing force, but can call on 30,000 troops from NATO countries. HQ ARRC has been in operation since 1992 and has been deployed four times, Bosnia, Kosovo and twice to Afghanistan.

During a speech after a briefing by senior officers, Prince Charles praised their work.
"We owe all of you a huge debt of gratitude from every country in NATO for the huge effort you put in"

His Royal Highness attended a reception with representatives of each country at HQ ARRC and their families, including troops from the Brigade of Gurkhas.

He finished the visit by meeting troops and families who were among the crowds at Imjin Barracks in Gloucestershire.
