Prince Harry: I Have To Be Impartial Over 100th Army-Navy Rugby Clash

Prince Harry says he has to be impartial despite his Army past, ahead of the 100th rugby clash between the Army and Navy this weekend.

He has been reunited with his friend and comrade Dave Henson MBE ahead of the match at Twickenham on Saturday 29 April.

The former Apache pilot Prince met up with the GB Paralympian and Afghan veteran as patron of the Invictus Foundation - the chosen charity for this year's event. He said:

"I have to be fairly impartial...I have only ever been once and we lost - I say 'we' - the Army lost!

"It's not only a huge social event but a chance for veterans and serving personnel to meet up and have a bit of a catch-up."

Dave Henson said to the Prince: "You and I have talked about the Armed Forces being a family - it's never truer a display of that than when you get to Army/Navy.

"It is a big match, and it is a massive community of people coming together."

Attending the game will be athletes competing at the Invictus Games in Toronto this September.

Dave said: "There will be people in that stadium and watching on television at home that are struggling with things, and may need some help.

"Hopefully they can look round at the Invictus competitors and see the stuff which they've gone through and are overcoming.

"There are so many organisations that can help."

Prince Harry added: "I don't want anyone to think they don't have the tools to be able to help their mate - everybody does."

Forces News was given special access to the encounter at Lee Valley Athletics Centre, which you can watch above in full.

You can watch live coverage of the Army vs. Royal Navy clash live on Forces TV (Sky channel 264, Virgin 277 and Freesat 165, on Saturday 29 April from 14:50 BST.
