Queen's Cavalry Brave The Rain To Get Ready For Ceremonial Season

The Queen's mounted bodyguard have been getting ready for a summer of ceremonial duties with a parade around Hyde Park.
After hundreds of hours of training, honing physical and mental prowess of both horses and men, the Household Cavalry Mounted Regiment underwent their annual inspection by Major General Ben Bathurst, General Officer Commanding the Household Division.
Silver cuirasses and white breeches were soon mud-splattered in the conditions.
The troops completed moves replicating those to be performed on this year’s Queen’s Birthday Parade.

The Major General's Inspection is the annual test of the regiment's ability to conduct state ceremonial duties for the year.
During the parade 174 men, women and horses, including the Household Cavalry Band with their Drum Horses, took part in the impressive parade.
