Queen's Dragoon Guards Prepare To Head West

The Nesscliffe Training Area near Shrewsbury didn't look much like California's Mojave Desert, but on a damp day in June, it was proving a useful substitute.

The Queens Dragoon Guards are preparing for exercises alongside their American counterparts 100 miles inland from Los Angeles. 

Forces News Danielle Crawshaw joined 1st Battalion Queen's Dragoon Guards as they familiarised themselves with the vehicles and rehearsed tasks such as winning the confidence of locals in conflict zones. 

The unit is looking forward to some Californian sunshine before heading to Poland for some more intense exercises.
