The Antarctic: A Posting Like No Other

The Antarctic Treaty of 1959 declared the region a non-military zone, preventing any army from establishing bases, carrying out exercises or testing its weapons there. 
 
But for over a decade, RAF signallers have been journeying south to carry out works the forces ARE allowed to undertake.
