Bomber Command Veterans Gather To Remember Comrades

Dedicated to the airmen of 106 Squadron

Veterans from Bomber Command’s 106 Squadron have gathered to remember their comrades and celebrate all they achieved 70 years on.

They brought family and friends to the Metheringham Airfield where they were based, which has now become a small museum to honour their war efforts.

106 Squadron was formed in 1917 but was reformed in 1938 as No 106 (Bomber) Squadron.

Completing hundreds of night raids over Germany in the run up to D-Day and beyond, the men of 106 Squadron were all volunteers for Bomber Command, flying the Lancasters.
