F-22s Soar Over RAF Lakenheath

A select few have been allowed to get up close and personal with an F-22 take off at RAF Lakenheath.

Aviation enthusiasts, hoping to catch a glimpse of these planes are normally trying to snatch a glance or photo from outside the fence – but in a rare opportunity, they’ve been let in for a closer look.

Called the worlds most advanced jet, the raptors fly faster than the speed of sound without after burners, meaning they can supercruise and maintain these speeds.

They can bomb targets up to 25km away as well has having long range air to air weaponry.
