Royal Marines train to tackle pirates, drug traffickers and terrorists

Royal Marine commandos have been working through several high-paced, dynamic exercises – splitting into small teams to practise civilian rescue, sabotage, and personnel recovery operations.

Working in the day and night, 42 Commando and helicopter pilots honed their fast-roping skills and moved into mock scenarios of high tension and civil unrest.

The drills in Staffordshire are part of efforts to reshape the Royal Marines for the future and to prepare personnel for a number of threats.
