PICTURE: PA
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have celebrated St Patrick's Day by attending a parade by the 1st Battalion Irish Guards at their barracks in west London.

Prince William is Colonel of the regiment. The couple watched 350 soldiers perform their annual march-past before presenting traditional shamrocks to officers and guardsmen.

The Duchess of Cambridge also pinned a shamrock to the collar of the battalion's mascot Domhnall, an Irish wolfhound, who led the parade.
