Running In The Footsteps Of The Fallen

Former Army Officer Lizzie Rosewell is running the equivalent of a marathon a day for fifteen days.

It is to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the First World War and raise money for ABF The Soldiers' Charity.

In just four months time the mother of two will be taking on the challenge

During her run, she will be visiting many of the major battlefields and memorial sites of World War One.

Lizzie will be carrying her own kit and camping most evenings and is raising money for ABF The Soldiers' Charity which is a cause close to her heart.

She says her past military skills will really help with the tough conditions:

"Obviously it's going to be very physically gruelling but mentally it's going to be very tough as well."

Sean Bonnington the Director of Fundraising for the charity says without people like Lizzie – the charity would not be able to continue.

"We don't receive any public funding so we rely entirely on people like Lizzie to fund the work we do."

The challenge will end as she crosses the finishing line of the London Marathon on 22nd April.
