The Sniper Who's Gone From Behind Enemy Lines To Behind 'The Wall'

Nick Irving is a former sniper for U.S. Military who now works as a technical adviser alongside some of Hollywood's biggest names to help give military films authenticity.

In his latest project, Nick worked with Aaron Johnson-Taylor and John Cena on their latest action flick, The Wall.

The film features two American Soldiers, who are trapped by a lethal sniper, with only an unsteady wall between them.

Nick admitted himself that the first time he read the script for The Wall he felt it was good, but it was way off in terms of being a true representation of a military operation overseas.

He worked closely with Director Doug Liman, who has previously directed films such as the Bourne Identity and The Edge Of Tomorrow, to make the film feel as close to real military life as possible.

Nick signed up for the US Military in 2004, served in the 3rd ranger battalion, then went on to the special operations military unit.

Then in 2010, he worked as an assaulter, demolitions expert, a designated marksman and a sniper.

He himself says he has been shot at thousands of times, but the time he was pinned down by an enemy sniper was a truly different experience and not many people will know how that truly feels.

Nick stayed at Aaron Johnson-Taylor, who plays Sergeant Allen Isaac, house several times to share stories of situations that he experienced whilst overseas so that the actors could accurately represent the characters they are playing.

The Wall is released in UK cinemas on the 28th July, but if you want a little taste of the action now, here's the trailer!
