An above-ground military bunker attached to former air base RAF Watton has sold for £260,500.

The facility near Thetford, Norfolk, features concrete walls one metre thick and steel doors three inches deep.

It was built in 1990 and served as a communications station for the RAF from 1994 to 2002, according to Auction House East Anglia.

At 5,300 square feet, the bunker overlooks open grassland but on the inside contains a walk-in vault and ceiling almost 10ft high.
