A Taste Of Britain In Naples
A Brit Fete in Naples is a chance for Brits to showcase the best of British to their foreign friends working at NATO as well as the local Italian community.
Exporting all the fun of a traditional British summer fayre to all of the 28 nations who work at the Naples NATO base it is a very simple idea, yet effective.
The celebration features customary fete activities, such as face-painting, a tombola, homemade jam and, of course, Morris Dancing!
Every nation gets the chance to host an occasion to present the best of their traditions to the Naples NATO base.
Lt. Col. Peter Stradins, who helped to organise the event, said that the competition is high, as other nations put on some fantastic events.
"This is our go. (...) But more than that, I suppose this is almost part of international defence relations."
In fact, whilst the Brit Fete is mostly about having fun, it does also help to forge bonds between NATO's multinational community.
