Truck Pull Tribute to Serviceman Killed in Afghanistan
The Infantry took on the Artillery in a Strong Man competition organised by the widow of a solder killed in Afghanistan. Jackie Gilbert's husband Bombadier Stephen Gilbert of the 4th Regiment, Royal Artillery, was fatally injured in an IED explosion in Afghanistan.
Jackie's competition idea was inspired by her best friend who was a runner-up in the World's Strongest Woman contest. Truck enthusiasts at the Thirsk Truck Gathering in North Yorkshire were happy to host the event, and provide the trucks which provided two of the toughest challenges.

Jackie's friend, Gemma Magnusson, helped set up the challenges, and she brought along the woman who beat her to the World's Strongest Woman title, Donna Moore, to show the men how it should be done.

Sgt Samisoni Boil of the 4th Scots Highlanders took the title on the day.
The event helped raise hundreds of pounds for the forces charity Combat Stress to help those left with mental scars from their actions in the armed forces.
