Trump And Kim Jong-Un To Meet For Second Summit

US President Donald Trump is set to hold a second summit with the leader of North Korea, near the end of February.

The announcement came at the White House after President Trump met with a North Korean envoy.

White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said President Trump met for 90 minutes with Kim Yong Chol to discuss denuclearisation and a second summit.

She said the president looks forward to meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-Un at a place to be announced at a later date. 

The meeting is expected to focus on persuading the North to give up its nuclear programme.

A historic summit between the two leaders took place last June in Singapore, where a denuclearisation agreement was reached, although little progress seems to has been made since.

Also last year, Mr Kim met with South Korean President Moon Jae-In, claiming they had agreed to "complete denuclearisation" of the Korean Peninsular. 

However, in August, a confidential UN report accused North Korea of continuing to develop nuclear and missile programs in violation of international sanctions.
