Two US Soldiers Killed In Afghanistan Convoy Attack

Two US service members have been killed in a suicide attack targeting a NATO convoy in Afghanistan, the Pentagon has announced.
The blast, which has been claimed by the Taliban, took place near an airport in the southern city of Kandahar.
Four soldiers are continuing to receive treatment at a coalition medical facility, although their wounds are not considered life threatening.
"On behalf of men and women of the Resolute Support Mission, I offer our deepest condolences to the families of our fallen comrades," said General John Nicholson, Commander, Resolute Support Mission.
"These Soldiers gave their lives in service of a mission that is critically important to the United States, our allies and partners. We will honor their sacrifice with our dedication to protect our homeland and complete the mission for which they sacrificed."
The attack comes as the Trump administration is deciding whether to send 4,000 more US soldiers to Afghanistan in order to control Taliban gains.
The combined US and NATO troop contingent currently in Afghanistan is around 13,500.
It also follows an attack inside a mosque which killed 29.
A suicide attacker opened fire inside on the site which was packed with worshippers at evening prayers, before detonating his explosives.
A second explosion came 10 minutes later.
Once again, no one has yet claimed responsibility for the attack.
