UK Reservists To Join NATO Kosovo Mission

Reservists with specialist skills will join the UK contribution to a NATO mission in Kosovo.
Around 30 British troops are currently deployed as part of the NATO’s Kosovo Force (KFOR).
The Ministry of Defence says the deployment will be extended until 2019 and reservists with surveillance and intelligence skills will join the multinational force.

Defence Secretary Gavin Williamson said the British Army reservists will play a crucial role.
"Our troops will work with key NATO allies, providing the expertise needed to maintain stability in the Kosovo region and Europe as a whole."

KFOR began as a peacekeeping operation in the late 1990s and has evolved into a force of around 4,200 troops from some 30 nations.
Last November the UK announced measures to boost defence training and capacity-building of the local Kosovo Security Force.
