Unexploded WW2 Bomb Found In Japan

Japan

A suspected unexploded bomb has been found at the site of the Fukushima nuclear plant in Japan.

The device was found by workers building a car park on the site, which was evacuated in 2011 following a reactor meltdown following an earthquake and tsunami.

The incident at the site was the world's most serious nuclear accident since Chernobyl in 1986.

The 3ft suspected bomb is thought to have been dropped by the US during WW2.

Tepco (Tokyo Electric Power Company) has released a statement saying that work was immediately suspended after the discovery was made, and bomb disposal experts immediately deployed.

The area had previously been home to a Japanese military base.
